History

Before we can understand where we want to go, we must first appreciate where we have come from. The Chase Eye Care group of optomotrists take great care and pride in its history of being a family run business providing excellent eyecare for the local community. So how did it all begin?

1906  C.Yates & Co  Manufacturing Opticians founded by Charles Yates & his sons Claude & Stanley 1947 C.Yates & Co acquired by Ralph Priest Dispensing Optician with 2 partners 1970 Ralph's son Michael Priest & wife Gail, both Optometrists acquire associated branches around Birmingham inner city 1980 Michael & Gail move the practice to Cannock, changing premises in 1984 & adding Hednesford branch in 1983. 1985 C.Yates laboratory moved to Cannock premises forming the first Optical Practice in the Midlands with on-site lens surfacing as well as glazing "while- you- wait" spectacles 2000 Michael & Gail form partnership "Chase Eyecare"with Beverley Rickets Dispensing Optician to be joined by Optometrist Shakeel Puri in 2004 2005 Onwards - Michael & Gail retire from practice soon to be joined by Beverley forced to step down due to ill health. Mr Puri (Shakeel) continues the tradition of Chase Eyecare & C.Yates & Co - expert clinical care combined with over 100years of experience of producing fine quality bespoke spectacles & contact lenses.   With thanks to Michael Priest who wrote this,
